Things to Do in Kraków

Kraków, roughly two and a half hours by train from Warsaw, is Poland's best-preserved historic city and the country's most visited destination outside the capital. Wawel Castle dominates the hilltop above the Vistula, while the cobbled Main Market Square — Europe's largest medieval market square — anchors the Royal City below. The Kazimierz district holds centuries of Jewish heritage, and Kraków is the main gateway for day trips to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Wieliczka Salt Mine, both UNESCO sites within an hour of the city.
